The Angel Tree Gift Family Connection Team exists to bring hope, connection, and the love of Jesus to families impacted by incarceration. While Angel Tree begins at Christmas with the gift of presents, its true purpose is presence—walking alongside families, encouraging them, and helping them find community and joy in Christ.
As part of this team, you will:
- Connect with families throughout the Angel Tree process, building relationships rooted in care and compassion.
- Receive and transfer wish lists from incarcerated parents into Angel Ornaments for Hope City’s Christmas Trees, giving church members the opportunity to bless children with meaningful gifts.
- Meet together on Fridays (10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14 from 5:30–7:00 PM at High Street) for fellowship, prayer, collaboration, and problem-solving as we serve families together.
- Personally connect with assigned families to:
- Gather and update family contact information
- Confirm gifts (one “want” and one “need” per child)
- Collect prayer requests
- Invite them to Hope City services, small groups, and events
“Angel Tree is not about presents. It’s about presence—a parent’s presence in their child’s life, the church’s presence during that parent’s absence, and Jesus’ presence in the midst.” – Michelle Payette
